Sometimes I’m trying to make magic and I just end up making mud, or some mess I know is going nowhere. When this happens you can stop, let it dry and then come back and work on top in another media. This is partly why I’m such a fan of mixed media. Experiment with what will cover what. Pen and ink will cover watercolour, acrylic will cover pen and ink, oil pastels will cover just about anything! If you lost your white paper in the mess and you need it back you can tip ex or white paint pen or a dab of acrylic white to give you a surface you can still re draw on (you can’t draw on oil pastels).
